hey tracy, let me tell you that the most common problem with these cars, is the waterpump. it is an electric pump that is not belt driven. the pump is controlled by the dme, or engine computer, and if it sees that the pump is not functioning properly will turn on the coolant light, and sometimes but not always the check engine light. this is something that you are going to have to get someone to take a look at, check the fault codes stored in the dme and let you know from there. have you checked to see if this car happens to have any cpo time on it? depending on the in service date of the car, and with the mileage only being 2k out of warranty, you may be able to get some help from bmw as well if it isn't a cpo car. thanks in advance, and i hope i have shed some light on your problem. ed
