I suspect the fault that you have is a faulty air mass meter, when this meter fails it inputs incorrect figures into the DDE (engine control unit) which result in loss of boost (no power)
To confirm this then a real time diagnostic check can be carried out at your local BMW main dealership.
To fix this a new air mass meter requires fitting and then carry out a software update for the DDE ECU.
The update reprogramming can only be done at a BMW main dealership.
You can test for this fault yourself, disconnect the electrical connector on the air mass meter, by doing this the ECU will input basic settings for the mass meter and this will improve the power (only do this for testing)
