How do I clear a code. "Power window trap function disabled"?
Were you having problems with a rear window?
Customer: replied 8 years ago.
Yes. The left rear window was replaced and is not going all the way up or down automatically. It goes in 2-3 inch increments. It also throws a code. "Power window anti-trap function disabled.
The only way to remedy this is to have the window module reprogrammed by the BMW dealership. There's a technical service bulletin explaining this problem. Here's a copy of the TSB:

Body - Rear Windows Move in Small Increments

SI B 61 20 06
October 2006

General Electrical Systems
Technical Service

This Service Information bulletin supersedes S.M. B61 200 04 dated February 2004.
Rear Windows Move in Small Increments

E60 (5 Series)

The customer may complain that the rear windows only move in small increments.

Rear windows are not initialized.

Program the KBM (Body Base Module) via the Special Measure programming path.
1. Start CIP

2. Select "Load Software"

3. Answer "No" to "Have control modules been replaced?"

4. Select the "KBM" from the control module list.

5. Select "Programming" then "Special Measure".

6. Finish the programming and retest for proper window operation.

O I have to take it to the dealership?
That is correct, unless there's a shop in your area that has access to a dealership BMW scantool that can program it for you. This is the only way to re-initialize the window module.
