Hi, this is Dr Jeanne Smith. I'll do my best to help you with home care suggestions and advice for the best course of action. I can give you first aid advice but you'll need to find a local veterinarian familiar with birds to examine her leg and treat it. U'll be typing for a few minutes. Is she bright eyed and alert?
Customer
she is alert
Customer
i do have a vet im seeing her tommarrow they are just closed sundays. she's very lathargic but she has been flying for a bit
Customer
or she can fly away I should say. I know she's in pain because she's fluffing up and she is sleepy
Customer
She cannot stand on the foot at all. She has no signs of bleeding. Her foot is a bit swollen
You can give her Children's liquid ibuprofen 2 drops orally every 8 hours. Keep her in a small cage or carrier with favorite foods and water in easy reach.
Check her leg carefully for anything wrapped around it, constricting it like a thread or hair.
A broken leg can easily wait until tomorrow or even the next day. A constriction should be removed ASAP.
