Is this live?? I have a female Eclectus. I've had my birdI've had my bird for about 10 years. For the past year I have been abroad as I moved to another country, and I haven't been able to bring her over yet. I've been home for a couple weeks now while renewing my Visa, and I noticed she has begun making a new noise. She does not vocalize in front of anyone aside from me, so it's hard for me to know when this started. When she is excited with me, or is alone in her cage and wants attention, she will often make a noise that essentially sounds like a dog toy squeaker. Recently, while she's chilling on my shoulder she makes these sort of quick, airy squeaks (basically sounds like a broken dog toy squeaker, so sometimes a completely empty "puff" and sometimes a very airy high pitched squeak), whenever I talk ( to myself or to her, she has an opinion regardless). I was worried at first she could have a respiratory issue but she shows no other signs of that, and also seems to comfortably make every other vocalization she has normally, when she would normally. She only is making this new noise while she's chilling with me (when she normally would be silent). Her body language and temperament is the same as usual, it's really just the noise that's new. I guess I just want to make absolute sure that I shouldn't be worried about these noises, or that it's not some sort of mating behavior that I'm encouraging by responding. … read more
