Customer Question
He is 21 years...

He is 21 years old. Has not been talking as much as he used to and looks a bit puffed up and sleeping a lot during the day. Now he prefers to sleep at bottom of cage during the day but still at the top at night. He does eat and drink and is active if I give him some millet. Dont know if he is being hormonal or sick or just old age.

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'll do all I can to help. Could be a lot of things that cause lethargy. The Expert will know how to help the bird. What is the bird's name?

Floyd

Veterinarian's Assistant: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about Floyd?

He is a male cockatiel

Because of his age I would worry there maybe something going on with him. Any time we see them puffed up and sleeping alot it can be an indication of sickness. Birds are very good at hiding their illness so by the time we see symptoms they very sick. I do highly recommend you take him into an Avian Veterinarian to be checked out. Is this possible?
