I'm sorry to hear of this with Matilda. We don't ordinarily dose ducks with penicillin due to its poor antibacterial spectrum and toxicity by procaine in many penicillin products. Over the counter injectable tylosin (Tylan-50 in your local feed store or online) is a better choice when injected into the breast muscle once daily in the wide range of 5 - 20 mg per pound of body weight. You can also place the injectable tylosin in Matilda's drinking water at a dose of 200 - 500 mg/liter of drinking water. Treatment should extend a minimum of 10 days. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
