Hi, this is Dr. Hill. The rooster likely has a severe sinusitis (upper respiratory tract infection). You can offer him watermelon, treat foods that he enjoys to help keep him hydrated and help his blood sugar not drop. He really needs to see a veterinarian. Even though they are many times pets, the government still considers them food animals and strictly regulates the medications they can have. You can go on to the FARAD website and look at what antibiotics are considered legal. If you are not able to get him to a veterinarian, then finding one of the antibiotics at a feed store may be your only choice. Feel free to send follow up questions. Take care.
