Hello. I'm Dr. Bob. I'm sorry to read of your parrot's condition, and I apologize for the length of time it's taken for this reply to get get back to you. Leg biting is a very destructive and painful habit that some birds develop in the beginning in response to some kind of irritation. Their behavior can become obsessive-compulsive like, resulting in over-zealous grooming and self-mutilation. How long has he been biting at his legs? Does he just pull out the feathers, or does he actually bite the skin deeply enough to make himself bleed?
