My parakeet was exposed to wood floor stain fumes

Customer Question

my parakeet was exposed to wood floor stain fumes for approximately an hour. He seems fine and is now outside in his cage. Are there any other precautions I need to take because of this mistake ?

I haven't received an answer. Any advice?

You're correct to be concerned and so I would place Marly in an area - perhaps a sheltered one outside - where no fumes have reached in order to detoxicate him as soon as possible. There aren't any specific antidotes to such intoxication. I'm sorry that your question wasn't answered in a timely manner. We don't have as many avian-oriented vets on the site as we do for other pets. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
