Customer Question

I was diagnosed with gerd about 5 years ago. I stopped taking my meds and would take acid reducers as needed. A few weeks back I had the feeling of something being stuck in my throat. I started taking nexium and it seems to have gone away. I noticed now after I eat there's like a crackling raspy feeling under my ribs some times in my back on the left side. I thought it was my lungs but I'm not sick and have no other symptoms. Also I regurgitate now. I'm not sure id this is gas or what. Some times if I breath I call feel it gargle in my lower back but again I don't think it's my lungs

Any cough?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
No major cough. I smoke so just a normal cough to clear my throat

you probably have a hiatal hernia

this is where the stomach pushes up into the chest.

This is common in GERD patients

I would recommend an endoscopy to look into the stomach

I've been pretty much good but I notice at night when I lay back in my recliner I feel like foods stuck in my throat. I have no more gurgling or any other symptoms. Through out the day.
Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 2 months ago.

This is from the GERD causing inflammation in the esophagus
