Your situation is definitely not unique, as many patients struggle with sweets after banding surgery. The best solution in your case would be to try and go cold turkey completely, and give up the sugar addiction. Once they are out of your system, it will be easier to avoid them.
If that doesn't work, the next step would be to remove your band and convert it to a gastric bypass. At least in the short term, it will help you lose that last 75 pounds and keep them off for a while. Eating sweets for a lot of bypass patients causes significant discomfort, but if they continually ignore the discomfort, eventually the bypassed bowel will learn to absorb those sugars, and patients gain weight. I would talk to your doctor about this possibility I conversion.
