VerifiedYes, once you file you get an automatic stay. The creditors cannot contact you to collect a debt once they get notice and can get in trouble if they do, so at that point they will stop contacting you. Once the debt is discharged then they will no longer be able to collect on the debt.

NO they will not, once they get notice all creditors must cease contact. You have to list the debt in the bankruptcy filing. Does this completely answer your question? If satisfied with my answer.
