Hi Nyla,

cfortunato :

Although possible, it is extremely difficult to file a Bankruptcy without being represented by a Bankruptcy attorney, or without the help of a Bankruptcy preparer to fill out the 60 pages of paperwork involved.

cfortunato :

However, you can file an 'emergency' Bankruptcy on your own, as this involves only 3 pages, and you can then hire an attorney to submit the rest of the papers within 15 days.

cfortunato :

Would you like me to send you the link for the papers that have to be filed for an 'emergengy' filing?

Customer:

Thank you I would appreciate the papers for the emergency filing.

Customer:

My apartment is to be auctioned on the 6th. Would an emergency filing be enough to halt the auction?

cfortunato :

The 3-page petition to be filed is here:

You also have to take a Credit Counseling Course, which can be done online.

cfortunato :

There are many places to take the CCC. but this one charges the least:

Filing the 3-page 'emergency' petition and the CCC paper before the auction will suspend all foreclosure proceedings, including the auction.
