The fees are set by the attorney that you hire to file your case. As a general guideline most law firms charge between $1500 and $2500 for a chapter 7
bankruptcy and around $2500 - $3500 for a chapter 13.
In a chapter 7 the fees usually have to be paid in full before the case can be filed.
In a chapter 13 you usually make a down payment and the rest of the fees are rolled into the payment you make to the trustee
