I live in Virginia and my husband recieved a judgement against

I live in Virginia and my husband recieved a judgement against him form a credit card company. The bank seized our account through a garnishment order. They took the amount out of our account. It is a joint account for the both of us. Now, I recently recieved a notice of a new hearing beause we have a joint account. The money has already been taken out of our account. Is it illegal to seize money from a joint account without approval/

A joint bank accounts can be seized for the debt of one of the co-tenants. Thus, if there was a judgment against your husband, that judgment could be executed against your joint bank account.
