I am looking information because I suspect my adult child

Customer Question

Hello, I am looking information because I suspect my young adult child who is 22 may have some asperger problem. He left on Wednesday and had not comeback, have texted that he wants to find himself, he is not happy with his life, and staying with a friend. He told me he was coming yesterday and did not come, today he told me he should be home tonight. I am very worried. He is very smart, since early age can do amazing calculations on his mind, at the end of High School he started struggling with studies, and have been on and off from College. He has been doing weather statistics and always looking at maps, he is excellent in Geography, but he don't know what to do in life, and he tells me he has panic attacks, and some kind of depression. He loves to exercise, sometimes kind of obsessive. We need help. Thanks

Thanks for this question. Why do you suspect Asperger's?

Also, does he use drugs that you know of or drink?

Any history of anxiety or depression?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
He drinks on weekends, no history of depression, cannabis in the 0ast

I would be cautious about drug use.

I would also be cautious of anxiety and depression.

It is hard to diagnose asperger's if he is actively using or if he has anxiety and depression

He needs to see a neuropsychologist for a formal evaluation for this.

They can check for anxiety and depression while seeing if he is on the specturm

I suspect asperger as he is always looking for weather statistics, maps, sports, difficulties with college studies, he is a calculator man, can make math additions, divisions, with exact calculations with decimals without using calculator all in his mind

It could absolutely be.

However, I am more worried about his depression and anxiety

This needs addressed right away as he is having trouble with it
