Good evening. My name is ***** ***** I have spent the past nearly thrity years involved in the service of, research and support systems development for individuals with Asperger's Disorder. I have two masters degrees, one in Special Education specifically to study the classroom and accomodations that can be made to benefit the student, as well as a second in Individual and Social Rehabilitation for which I was awarded a Kennedy Scholarship for excellence in rehabilitation. I would like to addess your question, though the news I have is not strong.

It seems that specifically Yale Univsersity is in the preparatio stage for a research endevor on the relationship between television, learning and Aspergers Disorder, however I could find nothing to state that it was alrady underway, nor the specific hypothesis that is being used for the study.

In any other studies, the theme of the study had more to do with what type of television was watched, and how it differed based on gender. I read each, and saw that although not conclusive, it might be males who were at greater risk as pornography was the subject chosen with a signifiant margin, making it noteworthy.

In terms of your questions, I am in a position to state, based on several thousand young people, that without an interpretor of sorts, television teaches few social skills, and violent TV often gives the idea that one is invincible.. Other than that, I have seen no stress or anxiety reaction, even in young people who tend to have an acute sense of hearig, and therefore are often assaulted by sudden souds. This does not seem true of television.

I do not know why this would occur, however empirical evidence in my notes shows that this upset by the sound of television is actually a rare to never situation.

I am not sure if this helps. I did research most universities and their research, and in short, can turn up nothing.

I do understand. Althought not for twenty four hours per day most of the time, I have spent a solid fifteen hours per day for thirty years, learning how to be patient, persistent, and always keeping the end goal in mind.
