Hi Paul.Can you please let me know whether the landlords have
retracted their eviction notice?I have been so upset by this. It is affecting my health.It seemed that the garden enraged the landlords (with help
from Talieh pointing out overgrown garden beds like it was the end of the world!..
but no response to mould growing in the bedrooms!!)After the big NSW flooding rains, every tree/bush shot up - almost
before your eyes. This is a high maintenance garden. Yes there are some dead
palm fronds near the carport, but it is only 6 weeks worth, no 6 years worth (when
the timing suits, I cut them up with an electric saw that I purchased for this reason
alone.) I maintain this garden as
beautifully as I can - when I have visitors, everyone comments on how good it
looks. It’s a shame that the landlords
came just a couple of days after the
heaviest of rain, so the lawn wasn’t mown and there were small twigs and leaves from
the trees on the ground after the storm.
To have Giovanna announce that she couldn’t live with this as she is OCD, the
mood seriously changed. Why didn’t I prune and lop and clean up the refuse from
the palm trees? I have, I do.. I have been doing it for 6 years! I have not
planted any of the trees.. all of my greenery is in pots. The trees are deciduous
– so ALL leaves fall. The landlords inferred that it was my fault that the stormwater
drain was blocked or if it’s a kerbside issue causing the blockage, ‘I’ should
contact the council to have it fixed!? (Last week, the plumber had been, and electric
eel’ed the drain and advised that yes there were leaves in there but that is not the problem, that there was something
else wrong – the drains are still overflowing with every rain.) The landlord
then accused me of running a business from here and that I should lop the trees
and get a gardener and claim it on my
tax. I told him it’s not a business and he started arguing with me that it was and
I was told that they always hear from me with problems and never from the neighbours at No.7 – I contact
you guys when there are major issues that need addressing: burst water tank,
broken toilet and light switches, flooding etc. I fix and pay for a lot of things
in regard to maintenance here, out of my own pocket – I only contact you with what
I deem, are major issues. When the landlords started arguing with me about
anything and everything to lay blame on me.. I couldn’t cope and told them that
they are upsetting me and I left in tears.
Next thing you know, I get a text from Talieh saying “hey it was nice to
see you, the owners want their house back!”
I have not had a lease since I
first started renting here. I have requested
a new lease on numerous occasions (to avoid a sudden upset like this) but it
has always been ignored. I was also accused on lumping everything on them at
once. I said No, these are the same list of items I gave to Michael when he did
a (rapid) scheduled house inspection back in August. He took (lots of) photos,
I gave him a list, I sent him a following text to show the drain overflow, and
I’ve heard nothing back. Isn’t this
where I/the landlords should be advised that the trees need pruning or the yard
looks too overgrown? Isn’t this where we are supposed to receive feedback to
improve living conditions? Every feedback that I have given was so that the owners
would be aware of what is happening to their house overtime.. nobody seemed to
care. From me advising Talia that the
gutter people didn’t do a good job as there are greater leaks in the shed than before
(thinking that the owners would need to know that the job that they had paid
for was not a good job), to her requesting a list of the items I gave Michael
back in August because they were not on file, to her sending them onto the
landlords, to them now wanting a routine inspection, to the landlords accusing
me of offloading too much onto them ‘all at once’, ended up with me receiving

who are away from their home countries and families for the first time, to
study here in Australia (it’s not a subletting arrangement). I care for them to keep them fed, healthy, safe
and happy – these are young girls that I will have to find a new home for too. Please let Gerardo know that it is not a
business that I’m running here with the 1/2/3 students I have under my care at
any one time. I’m creating a home
atmosphere for these young (and pretty anxious) girls.. I do it because there
is a need and I care. I receive an allowance to help with their living expenses
from the agencies which is very transparent on the agencies’ websites: www.ozhomestay.com.au www.homestaynetwork.com.au - (look up host payment under 18s for two
meals a day).. it’s evident that it’s not a money making venture – it’s not a
business. I can’t claim any tree loppers on my tax. The inference that
