You can, however, attend the Police station and make a new statement.
That statement is called a "statement of no complaint"
A Statement of No Complaint is a statement made by a victim stating that they do not wish for charges to proceed against an accused person.

Forced AVO on my partner by police even though I objected to it vehemently. I have been in a domestic violence cycle previously, not with my current partner. There is no history of violence or any signs, which I recognise instantly because of my past experience. My partners actions were totally out of character. His personality was altered and I believe he could possibly have had his drink spiked. He has no recollection of the events which took place. I have seen my partner intoxicated on several occasions and his behaviour remains the same as when he is sober. He has never shown aggression of any kind to me apart from this one event.
