QLD. Plumber organised a new tank, from Chromogen. NO discussion with either my husband or myself. 8 Months later tank is leaking. Chromogen are refusing to pay plumber to replace, have Not offered refund, ( which is what I want), Chromogen states they will only cover cost of tank. Plumber who ordered and installed this tank has informed me he NO longer deals with them and will NOT install it. I have been left in the middle. I'm 70 yrs of age and have just gone through 12 months of repairs due to flooding in my home. I paid approximately $3000 for tank and other repairs to this system. On researching Chromogen I have found multiple unsavoury comments about this company, as well as the fact that if the element goes I have to replace the whole tank again!!! I am a pensioner. NSW Ambarvale near Campbelltown. I
I contacted a plumber FastWays Plumbing services on saturday as I had a massive leak in my pipe. Most of the plumbing in my house is bran new only a small section is old where the leak is. The organisation sent out a plumber for $85 I was told that I had to have a leak detection test done even though they could see the water flowing from the pipe. They insisted I sign a contract to have the detection and I paid a deposit of nearly $500 (1/2 the cost) and this was not to fix the pipe. So I would be up for a lot more in cost. I have since spoken to 2 other plumbers who explained that because most of the plumbing was new that this did not have to be done only a small section of the house was required. I tried to cancel and they are adament they will not refund me any of my money I paid $600 and they have not done anything except to send out a plumber to talk me into have the job done. Both plumbers contacted told me that this organisation rips people off and sometime will even create another leak to increase the repair cost. Please let me know where I stand.
