Yes I started a new job Wednesday 17 March full time as an administrative and receptionist position full-time. After a few days into the role and learning new skills they told me I am responsible for maintaining the staff kitchen amenities, wiping down each day as well as replenishing the paper towels and toilet rolls in the bathroom upstairs for the factory workers and our office bathroom downstairs. I tried to be pleasant and understanding but this was not discussed at my interview nor on my job description. I am a person who will work above and beyond but I do not believe those duties I should have to do. l explained to them that was a cleaners responsibility and perhaps they should look into getting the cleaners in at least twice a week instead of once a week. I'm not joking there must be 17 staff working from the offices downstairs and at least 50 staff outside in the factory. Are there rules for this in today's modern age and also how about abiding by the new COVID-19 rules. The staff kitchen comprised of 3 x large industrial bins one so old it made me sick and had to be opened by used paper cardboard rolls. I didn't even want to enter the kitchen. The owners of the company had their own separate kitchen!! I was so disturbed about the situation I brought it to their attention Thursday a week ago after work hours, the Director and his son said the job was obviously not right for me and they would call me tomorrow. Waited for the call nothing happened so I sent through an email, Managing Director finally called the next morning and said after discussing the situation they agreed the job is not for me.
