I spend the rest of the year gutting the caravan completely, relining the walls, roof and floor of the caravan. Fitting it out with a new bed and bedding, new robe and drawers, and new kitchen. I had an Electrician rewire the caravan, bistro area and annex and a Plumber re plumb the kitchen and ensuite. I also had a new flyover installed at a cost of $4,200. I estimate that the total I spent buying and doing up the caravan exceeded $30,000. On 22 Oct 2020 I received an email from the Park telling me that within the next year or two I and about another 20 caravan owners would have to remove our caravans at our cost due to proposed redevelopment. I took the option to sell before last Xmas and the best I could get for the van was $9,000. Approx 2 weeks ago another email was sent to others trying to sell their caravans that the redevelopment was now not going ahead. So I sold my onsite caravan for no good reason and lost over $20,000.
