Hi I hope you will be able to point me in the right direction. I'm trying to help my niece, to be able to get access to the services for proper home care for her Mum and Dad. She is in Sydney, and has had to resign from her jop to take care of her parents. She has been caring for them for nearly three years. My brother (her father), has Parkinson's disease, and is in the early stages of Dementia, and my sister in law has got terminal cancer. I am 73years old, live in Perth WA, and am a fulltime carer for my wife, who in June 2015, was afflicted with an aneurysm, and stroke. At that time I was prepared for the worst, however, my wife is thriving now due to the care that the system here in WA. She will never be able to cope as normal but we have a good provider here in WA, thanks to the help from Human Services, and the ACA Team. As I am not as capable as what I used to be, l thank God that we have great services here. I am not an ACAT recipient, but my wife who is level 4, and that helps me to cope with her everyday needs. … read more
