I have a question about my obligations to centerlink and
I have a question about my obligations to centerlink and jobseeker. I am receiving a job seeker support since October 2020 since my daughter turned 8y. Before that I was receiving a parental payment. I started a full time study in February 2020 at KANGAN institute TAFE which was government founded (80%) I was told at job seeker agency (Ames), that I don't have to look for jobs until I finish the school, but in reality that was not really a case. They have continued making me look for jobs and I had to do the appointments all the time during finishing my school. I was asking them why I still have to look for jobs and why I still have to meet the obligations when they told me that I don't have to until I finish the school. I was told to call centerlink and settle this with them. I did call centerlink several times but they told me to settle this with job provider. So they have been passing me to look for answers from one to another. I still didn't get any resolution about that. It's like they are passing the ball to each other and no one gives me any answers. Now because of covid 19 situation my school has extended. We still need to do the practical part to get the diploma, but now the restrictions are out and I was told that I still need to meet my obligations?! I'm afraid I won't be able to finish my school if they want me to get a job before I finish. I'm a single mother with 2 kids (8,9) and they expect me to just leave my kids. They said I have to take any job they will offer me or I'll be cut off the government support. Could you please advise me what are really my obligations about job search if I'm still full time studying? … read more
