My daughter has purchased a wedding dress from a bridal shop
My daughter has purchased a wedding dress from a bridal shop in Penrith. In October last year she tried on a dress in the shop, which fit her perfectly and had her measurements taken in order for the same designed dress to be made. In the 6 months she has paid off the dress. Last Wednesday she went for a fitting and the new dress was far too small. Even when she was trying the dress on over her knees, my daughter commented that it felt very tight.The assistant said she must have put on to much muscle after attending the gym. I asked her to check the measurements again and retry the original dress from the shop which fit her perfectly again. Her measurements were also the same after 6 months. The assistant asked my daughter what she wanted to do to which we replied that it needs to be altered and as my daughter still fit into the original dress and her sizing was still the same it was obvious to us that it was their problem. They said they would talk to the dressmakers and get back to us. A week tomorrow and we still haven't heard anything. My question is, are we liable to pay for any alterations that will have to be made or are they liable to make the dress to the specifications that were done by them. The owner of the shop even made a comment that the measurements were the same and perhaps they had not cut it on the bias to give it stretch.
