I live in W.A, I have an issue regarding my intention to purchase a house. Having visited the house on a home open day, I subsequently contacted the real estate agent and submitted the required "Contract for Sale of Land or Strata Title by Offer and Acceptance" form. This is a form own by the Real Estate Institute of WA and the most commonly used form in these transactions. The Agent presented my offer to his client (the Vendor). The Vendor rejected my offer and came back with a counter offer. At this point I advised the Agent I would not continue to pursue this property. The Agent asked if I would consider going another $5000 to seal the deal. I said I would think about it. I did not make another written offer to pay the extra $5000. The Agent advised he would discuss this with his client and get back to me. On Thursday 22/2, the Agents manager sent an e-mail to the Vendor asking him "If we could get them (me) to $355,000 would you accept and move on?" … read more
