I paid $80 to have hyundai 2014 accent radio diagnosed

On March 10th 2020 I had a diagnostic service on my hyundai accent active 2014.
When I called to make enquiries about how to get the radio repaired prior to the service I was told the following information.1. I need to have a diagnostic service to identify if the radio had an issue with the computer programme or any other fault.
2. The cost of the service is $80. If the the problem was the computer and it could be fixed I would be refunded $40. If the fault could not be repaired I pay $80.
3. Based on this information I decided there was a chance the radio could be repaired hence I would try this option and book a diagnostic service which booked for Tuesday 10th March 2020.
4. On Tuesday 10th March 8.30 I arrived at the reception. My keys were taken and the radio proceeded to be diagnosed.
5. I sat in front of the gentleman at reception. He told me
there is a 90% chance the radio would not be able to be repaired and it was a common problem. He pointed to the stack of boxes in your office and told me they were radios waiting to be installed in hyundai cars that had faulty radios. This information was told to me during the diagnostic service and not prior to the service when I made enquiries about what was required to get the radio repaired.
6. If I was told this information during the call I made to find out what was involved to get my radio repaired, I would have made an informed decision about having a diagnostic service. I should have been told this information prior to organising the service. This information was with held until the radio was being serviced.
7. The outcome of the service was the radio could not be repaired. I was told by the gentleman at the reception I could replace the radio with a refurbished radio, nota bran new radio as this It not possible to offer customers. The radio and installation would cost $355.
8. I decided not to organise a replacement radio.
9. The following days after the diagnostic service, I rang two auto electricians and was told the following information.
10. The auto electricians on a weekly basis repair many faulty hyundai radios. If I replaced the radio with another hyundai radio, there is a high chance it would not function again.
11. After being told this information I made a decision not to get the radio repaired.
12. I thought more about this situation and came to the conclusion that it was not fair, right or ethical that I should have been advised to have a diagnostic service at a cost of $80, learning that there is a high percentage of hyundai radios not functioning and being told this during the service.
13. I sent an email to consumer protection on 6th March 2020 with all the information I have sent in this email. I received a email 7th March 2020, from the solicitor explaining the legal information regarding the standard of radios should comply to the standard of all radios sold in retail outlets and installed in cars. Also, the legal information explaining that customers have a right to be told all the relevent and necessary information regarding the radio, during the enquiry stage before making a decision to have the diagnostic service.
14. I would like a refund of $80 because the information I was told by the man who assisted me at the service desk explained to me that there is a 90% chance the hyundai radio in my car will not be able to be repaired and the man showed me several boxes of hyundai radios waiting to replace the faulty hyundai radios. This information was told to me during the diagnostic service and not when I was making enquiries about my radio prior to booking the service.I would appreciate your assistance with this request. Here is an update regarding attempts to get radio repaired.1. I sent an email to Midland DVG Hyundai requesting refund of $80 for the diagnostic service. The response to the email is, no response via any form of communication to that email has occurred to this date.2. I spoke to a senior customer care officer on 20/4/20 hyundai requesting compensation for my malfunctioning radio, that being a refund for the cost of the hyundai radio and the fittings to go with it or replacing the radio with a refurbished hyundai radio free of charge. The response to the request. The the radio is not covered by the warranty and hyundai will not refund or replace the radio free of charge.3. On 20/4/20 I spoke to Cameron at Hyundai Vic Park telling him about customer cares response to my request. Cameron gave me the option for me to pay $420 to replace the radio with the same market hyundai radio.As I have learnt the radios are poor quality, I am not replacing it with the same brand hyundai radio. My radio is not functioning and will remain this way throughout this investigation.This is the situation so far. I look forward to speaking to you next week.
