Mouldy apartment problem. Victoria. It started in June, when
It started in June, when we first noticed the mould. Emailed the agent they pretty much ignored us. We had an routine inspection which we showed them the mould, they did nothing to fix it. Think it wasn't until August someone finally came in to view the moudly room, the wall was soft and swollen from water and covered in mould. The carpet was mouldy. Our bed was mouldy. They said it was a leak from the rook going into the wall. Wasn't until September the carpet got removed. They want to re paint the wall without fixing it, they want to re lay new carpet despite the underlay being mouldy. We have been paying rent for two rooms since June but couldn't use one coz it was mouldy … read more

Victoria. I have been in a rental for 3 months now - both
I have been in a rental for 3 months now - both hot water systems in the house (upstairs and downstairs) have both blown up since living here. It has been proven that the down strairs hot water system has been dripping under the floor from a crack in the shower for longer than we have tenanted the home. this has resulted in black mould being under all of the carpet down stairs - so therefore uninhabitable - this was brought the landlords attention 2 months ago and nothing has been done about it. there is now mushrooms growing through the floor - we have been told not to use the shower. Therefore the whole downstairs of the property has been considered un-inhabitable by an insurance company. This was 2 weeks ago this had been brought the property owner and agency straight away 2 weeks ago and nothing has been followed through with. I have continued to pay rent and am curious if i am eligible for compensation? … read more

We have a few issues we are trying to resolve, first issue
We have a few issues we are trying to resolve, first issue being back in june the plumbing flooded in both bathrooms due to a broken pipe with was laid during the build, when the build on our rental was happening the person responsible for breaking the pipe never told anyone which has then become an issue for us 1 month after moving in, all the plumbing was bubbling through the showers, we could not shower for 5 days and could not flush the toilet. wash our clothes or clean dishes ect, we informed the property manager first thing saturday morning after discovering during the friday night the water did not move, we were informed nothing would be done until Monday due to the cost of calling out a plumber on a Saturday, this was then fixed on the Tuesday afternoon, we again were not told or informed in any way it was fixed and we could use showers etc until i reached out myself on Wednesday afternoon and was told yes it was fixed the day before, we have since requested compensation and have been refused … read more
