I recently changed my electricity account fromAlinta to Simply Energy after being convinced I would be on a better deal. although both providers were giving a 25% disc at th time. Simply Energy said their kw rate would be cheaper and ther would be other benefits.

The first account (3 month cycle) came and the disc applied as promised, and ths was on a deal for 24 months. The next account period there was no disc and a new contract came in the mail offering Bonus of $260 on the anniversary (12) of joining SIMPLY ENERGY.

There was no mention of the 25% disc being discontinued and I made several Phone calls and they promised to get back to me but as time went by I deducted he 25% as entitled in my 24 month contract and paid my account so as not to get hit with overdue fees, and contacted ALINTA, my previous provider and made arrangements to return to my previous provider. By the time this happened I was into my third cycle and the same thing happened. Iwrote to the Sales Manager in Melb and explained the situation and the fact my phone calls were not returned and this week a received a letter of demand for outstanding fees for the two periods I had deducted my disc..The demand was unsigned and no name anywhere to write to a person, and no mention of my letter to the Sales Manager Andrea Bernard, or any reply to my issues re my previous discount deal. They have now threatened disconnectio and recoery action.. I have replied straight away say my account is paid in full and I will be having no more dealings with Simply Energy. What happens Now.
