There should be an overpayment.
Did you use Solicitors to act for you on the sale?
You can do either of the following:
1. As you have the details of the new owner send them a letter and advise that you have been paying the levies in error and they owe you the money you have paid and you want it back in 14 days. If they refuse then you sue them.
2. Contact your solicitor and get them to deal with their solicitor and send the letter on your behalf and have it done that way.
You can make the claim up to 6 years later.
But the earlier the better
If they refuse you will have to sue them.
Your action would be in QCAT
You cannot claim the money from the body corporate
They will not pay you.
The party you have to chase is the new owner.
Here is the link that provides the process for you but you go through QCAT not the Magistrates Court.
But this is the process to follow
You send the letter to the new owners to reimburse you and cancel the direct debit.
