If the children are in danger he can make an urgent application for the children to live with him and for supervised visits by the mother.

He will need DoCS to support the application.

Also if the mother is the violent one and has the drug issues that she cannot be with the children if she has taken drugs 24 hours before and should be tested regularly

He has to file an application with the Family Court/Federal Circuit court.

He should get a solicitor to assist him as these are not simple matters

If it is the partner that is violent then the children not be overnight in that house and supervised visits

Contact the law society of NSW and get a referral to a solicitor that is a family law accredited specialist

But he has to get orders.
