We have made a accomodation booking via Booking.com for 4we have made a accomodation booking via Booking.com for 4 people in Tasmania form 28/11/2022 to 28/11/2022. One person of the travel party is unable to travel due to a knee replacement scheduled for mid November The cancelation police from Booking.com is depending on the Terms and Conditions of the Holiday houses rental comany which is as follows: If booking made directly and 30 days prior to de date of arrival free of charge minus $50. If booking made via agent ie Booking.com it refers to T&C from Booking.com which says " total cost to cancel" $1,039.46 therefore a increase of cancelation cost of $989.46 = 2078% We Accept that booking confirmation from Booking.com reads Cancelation Policy is "Total cost to cancel" however is it resonable a increase of 2078% between booking direct or agent?? … read more

I making an enquire on behalf of my brother in law whoi making an enquire on behalf of my brother in law who booked accommodation for the 3rd State of Origin game in Sydney for on week at loft apartments Olympic park as he lives in Queensland and because of the COVID outbreaks and the restrictions here in Queensland he wants to cancel his booking. The accommodation has flat out refused a refund stating he should have considered this before booking. I know that is probably true but at the same time I think they are being very unfair and obnoxious about not giving any refund of the $3500 fee. If he went to Sydney he would have to go into 14 days quarantine when he returned to Queensland at his own expense. … read more

On Sunday 4th April, I made a reservation on booking.com toOn Sunday 4th April, I made a reservation on booking.com to stay at skyline serviced apartments in melbourbe CBD. An hour or so before we were due to check in, we get a call from the host (Jane), who informed us that she had double booked the accomodation. However, she said she had another apartment she was able to put us in that was more expensive, though would give it to us for the same price. The apartment was supposedly nicer than the one we had originally booked. Jane said we'd get a refund for our reservation we made through booking.com once we cancelled it through their site, which we did. She then gave us her account details so we could transfer her the $2360.80 into her business account for the apartment she was able to re-locate us to, which we did. Upon arrival to the apartment (which was located in a totally different building), we met with her colleague Lucas, who had the key. Jane informed us that she needed a $400 bond which we were happy to give, however, she wanted this in cash, which we did not have. We negotiated and said we would transfer her the funds, which she agreed. The girl who transferred her the $2360.80 had reach her daily transaction limit, so another girl transferred the $400. As she was with a different bank, Jane did not receive the payment instantly. Despite us showing Lucas that the transfer had been made, and sending Jane a screenshot of the transfer, she demanded we withdraw $400 and give Lucas the cash, so we did. Once we finally arrived to the room, we discovered it was nothing similar to our original booking. The room was filthy, and furniture was outdated. There was dirty water left in the kitchen sink, the floor had not been vacuumed, the bathroom looked as if it was just wiped over with a cloth, the mirrors/ glass were filthy, the bed linen was severely creased with marks all over the sheets, the couch has tiny holes in the material and the balcony door was broken and did not lock. Within 5 minutes, we called Jane and informed her we were extremely unhappy with the room she had provided us and it was nothing similar to what we had booked. We told her we were leaving and we wanted a refund. She then said she could put us in another apartment . However, she had already messed us around and we said we did not trust her and we just wanted our money back, in which she said her had to communicate with her supervisor because she was not working that day. In the meantime we left the apartment (completely untouched), and were on our way to another apartment we had just booked. We called her again and said we had left and she basically said that if we return the Key to Lucas (which we had to meet at a different location) she would give us the $400 bond back, but if we did not there was no way that we would get a refund. So at this point we had decided to give the key back in hope that we'd get our refund. She refused to give us the bond back in cash and said she needed to make the transfer for proof, which we agreed to do as she was being extremely uncooperative. So we met Lucas and returned the key and were refunded the bond through transfer. We had to make multiple phone calls and texts to chase up the refund for the stay and additional bond, many of which she ignored. Even after informing her she had been misleading and deceptive with the accomodation she provided us she kept on say i offered to put you in a different apartment but you girls refused. … read more
