We purchased a vehicle privately when we left my pulled me over and told me l had no brake lights so me being mechanically minded thought is just a fuse when I arrived home I checked the fuse and it was fine to me,a blown fuse is normally very visible but this one didn’t.My wife contacted the lady who we purchased it from and told her the problem she contacted her husband and they said they would come and have a look the next day which he did he did nothing different to me but I quizzed him why the headlight had fallen in had it been in a crash he laughed and said no so I purchased a second hand headlight and you tubed how to replace it which I did, upon inspection the headlight bracket was broken which is part of the headlight so he said he couldn’t help me but he did tell me that the brake lights were working the day we purchased it but I think he made this up.I said I will get my auto eleelectrician to have a look. He told me that they were working when people were testing out the vehicle.My auto electrician tol me that the body control module was burnt out due the brake lights but that meant taking it to north city holden as it had to go on their computer find the where the fault was with the brake lights which burnt out the body control module which controls all the eletrs in the car. They came across a crushed wire at the rear brake light on the top of the back window there’s a flap in case it needs replacing it was crushed between the clip and the flapthey told us their mechanic checked the car and gave everything the geen light she sent the report to my wife showing the lights worked.There is common fault with this car as the roof lining falls down from the sun so who ever repaired it has crushed the wire .north city holden charge us $1650.00 to repair the car with a new BCM plus labour and Two new keys which had to be set with the computer.Because the car is on gas the tank has to be tested every 10 years this expired in2016 so they were driving around in a ticking time bomb as my son is now until it’s been tested Thursday costing us $690 now my question is with all the reports and photographic evidence of crushed wire do I have a case at the small claims tribunal.As they have sold us an unroadworthy car
