Hi,
I am based in Sydney. I applied for a job online once. The job description said,’I had to collect various packages at AusPost and then send it to the quoted address’. I sent through all my details to get that job as I was looking for one. I had that first job where he asked me to only parcel through a phone. I went in the post office and opened it and saw a sim. I called the service provider to confirm if anything doggy was going on. It was on my name. So I made a police complaint and called the service provider to come and collect their phone. They said they would collect it in 5 days. They haven’t got back to me and it’s been ages. I checked my credit score and it has not been effected. However, I still have that product with me unopened but I am confused about what to do with it.

Cancel the sim with the sim with the service provider and attend at you local police station and report it again.

It appears you are the victim of identity fraud.

Look at the information you provided the person for the job and also provide the police with all information you have on them and a copy of the add and any emails you sent them.

I did that. I spoke to police, spoke to service provider and they said they would cancel the sim. However, now it’s been almost 6 months. I even forgot about it but the phone is still with me as the service provider,’Optus’, they never provided me the return kit, that they said, they would send to me.

Contact them again and request it or ask them if you can destroy the sim so it cannot be used

Thanks. By the way, I got $50 credit from Vodafone as I contacted them yesterday. They said it was sudden and there was nothing they could have done. Thanks for that brother.
