Just need advice. I recently travelled to PNG for my
I recently travelled to PNG for my brothers funeral. Dec 18th , on the 19th I called Optus to activate a travel pack plan for 14 days on the phone I called them with. Somehow they activated the plan on my other phone that I left here in Brisbane. In 2 weeks my bill went up to $750, but while there in PNG , I was unable to connect to the internet. Just text and phone calls. When I got back I called Optus and found that they were at fault. This was Friday last week. They said they'll fix my service but still haven't. I told them I needed to keep in touch with my brothers children because they just lost their father. Without the international calls I cannot contact my brothers children to see how they are. … read more

I recently purchased a new townhouse which was not at the time finish built. I told the agent (McGrath Croydon) that I could afford to buy th property if there was some Off the Plan stamp duty consession. The agent contacted the builder who valued the cost of the build iup to that point at $650,000 which would attract a stamp duty of $34,000, which would save me some $12,000 on the finish build contract price which was $855,000. I asked for this to be put on the Contract of Sale under Special Conditions which stated, "Value is at $650,000 (Stamp Duty) $34,000." This condition was signed by the builder and myself. … read more
