NSW and no. I have just moved from Tasmania to NSW, where I
I have just moved from Tasmania to NSW, where I went to re-register my car. However, upon checking my registration, it had been cancelled 6 months prior without notification. When I contacted Service Tasmania, they advised my car was registered in NSW already. I advised them that was incorrect. They sent me to Service NSW, Nowra, where I spoke to both the customer service officer and Manager, who were rude and told me someone had registered their car with my VIN number. But I had to provide proof of purchase. (Which was on its way from Tasmania) They could not provide me with an ‘exemption to drive an unregistered car', because then it would cancel the other persons registration.. after three calls to Service NSW, and speaking to the Melissa, the Manager of Nowra, I was re-advised they will contact me with more information and update. I still have not heard from them. In the mean time, my unregistered, perfectly fine car (only just had a blue slip done) is sitting in my mother's front yard. I had to get my mother to transport me and my eldest four hours away, which meant she had to also bring her son (my brother), with her. I was meant to be driving my sister to chemotherapy as she has just been diagnosed with terminal cancer, stage four, bowel cancer. Inturn, I'm now stuck down at the new house, 4 hours away, and have to get my husband to have time off his NEW job to take me back to get my car registered. Plus the fact my mother had to ask a family member to stay and care for my sister since neither of us could be there for her. I was repeatedly told I am not in the wrong, yet I am the one suffering and have been put out, still with no updates of when I will be able to have my car back.… read more
