It is clearly a matter where they are both liable and the law says if you are reversing out of a car space you have to keep a look out.

She has to contact Coles and deny liability.

She will have to request they forward to her the documents to complete and show what happened.

Also if she has not repaired the car then take photos of the damage to show exactly where she was hit.

Also if she was further out of the space she can allege the other driver is more at fault than her.

She should not have agreed to pay anything.

But she should dispute it and try and reach a compromise.

If they refuse then she should take the matter to the ombudsman.

She will need to have all this in writing to show what happened and the discussions she has had over the phone try and rember when and who she spoke to and put them all down in writing and use them against the insurer.
