Debolrah, Qld/ My husband purchase a Local appliance rental
Qld/ My husband purchase a Local appliance rental franchise 19 months ago for $ 80 000. The scales we were shown said this would be paid off in 12 months and we would have well over 100 contracts. The reality is we have 14 contracts and now owe over $ 100 000. Because I made a song and dance about this at a recent function they are now saying we are in breach of contract for not reaching the targets. We have spent money on letterbox drops, facebook, adverts etc and have found that Local Appliance Rentals are not competetive hence the lack of rental contracts. We were told we would have full support and definately have been brushed under the carpet until my public complaint. Now my husband has been called into the head office and told if he doesnt take my name off the contract as a shareholder they will sue me for verbal assault and spoiling their party. I didnt realise I was a shareholder anyway and I am certainly not a franchisee or employed by my husband. They are bullying and calling the shots now i have complained and are issuing us with a warning of breach of contract plus insisting we will lose the franchise if my name is ***** ***** as a shareholder and I am to have nothing to do with it. comment was not even taking a dollar to the bank. We paid $ 79 900 plus have spent over $ 20000 trying to build this business which is not working. Do we have any say in this? … read more
