Hello. I hope you can help us.I am an aged pensioner 71 years old. I have just become a pensioner about a year ago because my wife has now retired. She is not a pensioner as she has her own self funded pension from her Superannuation.She recently received an inheritance from her deceased parents estate. So I have to provide a new Income and Assets form to update our financial position.We care for a profoundly disabled young man Grant, now 29 years of age. We have been caring for him since he was 2 years old.When Grant turned 18 we had the option of either having a social worker or having the equivalent amount of the foster payments continue. We decided to have the foster care payment equivalent continue. This was not deemed by the Taxation Office as income.I receive payment for when Grant is sick at home and I also receive payment when I take him swimming.All payments, including the carer amount (follow on from foster payment) come out of his ISP (Individual Support Plan). The Taxation Department does not consider this as income.The challenge we have here is in point 8 of the Income and Assets Form.8. Do you (and or your partner) CURRENTLY receive any income from work other than self-employment?I believe that the money that we receive from Grant's ISP package is not income, as it is not deemed income from the Taxation Offices point of view.The only option we have on the Income and Assets Test is to fill in employer information, hours paid etc, GROSS amount earned before tax etc, but none of this applies.Do we just leave my income as No (no income)?Please give a reasonably detailed explanation. We have filled everything else in correctly, but this income part is confusing.Thank you for your assistance.
