Ask Your Own Australia Law Question
Customer reply replied 7 months ago
It is not a leak but a drip it comes out of the aircon when it is running and drips down on the top of my box aircon making it impossible to use the room
Solicitor: John Melis, Lawyer replied 7 months ago

ok, in this case you need a plumber to seal it.

do you have a local plumber you can call ?

Ask Your Own Australia Law Question
Customer reply replied 7 months ago
no you can't seal it , it is what box air cons do but they are normally connected to a pipe that sends the drip down the wall to the ground. Because the air con is on the third floor they need to erect scaffolding to fix it. I just want to know who pays Body Corp or the owner of the aircon
Solicitor: John Melis, Lawyer replied 7 months ago

the owner will be responsible for fixing this point.

I live in a unit block and I have a tiled floor which is constantly wet due to condensation. It has become a problem recently since a new tenant moved into the unit below and uses their air conditioner 24/7 on an incredibly low temperature. I know I don't have a right to dictate how someone uses their airconditioner however the moisture is causing health problems for my pet as well as mould and property damage. Is this something I need to take up with the developers for not providing appropriate insulation? I am constantly trying to clean and dry the apartment however it is a losing battle which is becoming a mental and physical and financial concern. How would you recommend I deal with this problem? I am awaiting a response from the body corporate however I want to know if I have any right to demand a resolution other than having to abandon the property. I believe this will effect the value of the property negatively and the problem is only getting worse. … read more
