Hi. On November 23rd...

Hi. On November 23rd, a DVO was put in place against my "now ex husband". I was extremely nervous etc, and although I heard the no contest part, I did not hear the "without admission" part. I later let his first wife know that it was over, that he had the DVO for 2 years. She later sent hi. A message, because she was glad. I have now recieved a letter from his lawyer, saying I must retract what I said, and that, because of the "without admission" words, he is actually inocent. I feel so cheated. Does this mean he has been let off of any wrong doing?

I have the DVO, which the court sent me. He is being so smug, and telling people he has not done anything.

No. I just thought that by a DVO being put in place, the judge found he had comitted domestic violence. Now I am thinking this is not so.

No, although, I am considering having further restrictions added.
My issue is that my ex (Bruce), seems to think that, because the DVO says "Ït is ordered by consent without admissions", he is seen as completely innocent of comiting domestic violence!
My understanding was that if the judge issues a DVO, then this is because he has enough evidence to show the domestic violence did occur.
How does this "Ït is ordered by consent without admissions" effect the outcome?

what this means is that there was domestic violence and in order to avoid further hearings in court, the parties have accepted the DVO without admission, which technically stops further proceedings.

Bruce is also contacting potential witnesses for a future hearing, to provide e idence of his extensive past history of extreme aggression and violence. These people are feeling very intimidated by him. They are in Canada. I heard a recording of him being extremely verbally agressive to his sister. He was made aware this was being recorded.
So, does this mean he is deemed guilty of comiting domestic violence against me.
I feel very let down by the process. He is basically laughing at it.
