I have been in a rental for 3 months now - both hot water systems in the house (upstairs and downstairs) have both blown up since living here. It has been proven that the down strairs hot water system has been dripping under the floor from a crack in the shower for longer than we have tenanted the home. this has resulted in black mould being under all of the carpet down stairs - so therefore uninhabitable - this was brought the landlords attention 2 months ago and nothing has been done about it. there is now mushrooms growing through the floor - we have been told not to use the shower. Therefore the whole downstairs of the property has been considered un-inhabitable by an insurance company. This was 2 weeks ago this had been brought the property owner and agency straight away 2 weeks ago and nothing has been followed through with. I have continued to pay rent and am curious if i am eligible for compensation? … read more
