I took my dog...

I took my dog to the vet on a Wednesday arvo because he had been unwell since monday night. He was 4 and 1/2 months and admittedly I hadnt had him vacinated. Anyway he was vomiting and had diarrhea on the Monday night but looked like improving tuesday but downhill again wed. He wasn't eating and only drinking a little. He was sleeping a lot. He had no froth from his mouth and no sickness since the monday. When I arrived at vet we'd arvo I had to wait outside in the heat for over half hr and this is when he had his first sign of dribble (which was clear and only dribble). They put him on the drip and said it was parvo. Which I found hard to believe. I've seen grown dogs die in a day with parvo and they frothed. Anyway I rang every morn and told he was still no better. Then Friday arvo I went to see him but they were closed so I rang and they said to call back monday. I did this at 10 on my smoko break and asked how he was. They said not real good he had passed away on saturday. I was in shock. Are they obliged to tell me he died. They had my number and should they have done a blood test and what happens about burial. Do I get charged? I would've gone and got him. they said they had him on drop the whole time. Thanks cc

He was a koon hound x pit bull. He had been wormed and was extremely happy at 1pm the Monday lunch and was ok but not as active at 4-5pm that evening. He was very well fed and had not been in contact with any other dogs since we got him. No 1 in my street owns a dog. I have a cat and a rabbit. The cat was his best mate and he got along well with the rabbit. I truly thought he'd been bitten by a spider or something along those lines. We have brown snakes here but I couldn't see any dead or see a clear mark anywhere. He had a bit of plastic in his vomit and was renown for chewing things.

I'm not sure. Do I have a fair claim against him. I only really wanted to know what he really died from and if I should've been notified and if I have to pay the bill

Id prefer talk via email. Sorry but I need to save my money I think for the vet bill. All I wanted to know is if the vet should've notified me about my dog dying and if another vet would've done a blood test to confirm parvo and were the symptoms consistant with parvo. Also do I have to pay burial fees or should they wear these costs.
