Forced AVO on my partner by police even though I objected to
Forced AVO on my partner by police even though I objected to it vehemently. I have been in a domestic violence cycle previously, not with my current partner. There is no history of violence or any signs, which I recognise instantly because of my past experience. My partners actions were totally out of character. His personality was altered and I believe he could possibly have had his drink spiked. He has no recollection of the events which took place. I have seen my partner intoxicated on several occasions and his behaviour remains the same as when he is sober. He has never shown aggression of any kind to me apart from this one event. I do not believe that the AVO is warranted nor would the police listen to my objections, effectively taking all my power from me. My partner has taken an APVO against my ex-wife. As she was not served on the date of the hearing, the magistrate issued interim orders. My ex-wife is a family day care provider and has appealed on the grounds of these orders resulting in her business being closed down by the service provider (South West Family Daycare).
