Not sure as my sister has no accountability to anyone but has used the EPOA as a power position. She bought Mums house 15 years ago then sold it after promising that she never would and now wants to sell her unit but is aware that Mum has always stated she wants to die at home. Mum does become very stressed and confused and I have witnessed the way my sister speak down to her as elder abuse. I am a registered nurse with training in dementia but since my father's death 19 years ago Mum has been controlled by my sister, literally. Even though I visit regularly I am told by my sister that I haven't been around for the past 20 years.

Mum 's wish is to die at home and as a qualified nurse with dementia training I am willing and presently able to accommodate her wish and care for her in her own home. My sister placed her in a nursing home even though she knew I was on the way to care for mum. My son took her home last Saturday night after my mother threatened to commit suicide if she had to go back to the nursing home. I was present at the time and we went to the local police station to inform them of Mum's threat and wish to return home. My sister was aware of my mother's wishes but as appointed EPOA disregarded them because she felt Mum would be better off in the nursing home and told me she intended to sell Mum's place. I asked my sister to please wait until I could be there before making her permanent. I was informed of this while on a study trip on the 31/07/2017 and have not been able to speak to my sister since. Mum is comfortable at home at the moment under my care, eating regularly again but has found many things removed in the past 6 weeks including gifts I have given her, jewellery and personal items. The neighbours and my sister are the only ones I am aware of that have keys.Just to add when I arrived on the 09/08/2017 there were no keys available for me to enter Mum's place and I have had to go to the neighbours to get theirs, which I still have and Mum told me to make a copy for myself, these are to the back door only. I feel my sister must be accountable to someone rather causing more division and stress to everyone, especially Mum.
