I'd like your opinion on the following please. both my son
I'd like your opinion on the following please. both my son and daughter have received parking infringements over the past few weeks for parking in areas infront of our house that has not been an issue for the past 12 years that we have lived here. my question is, 'why is the Whittlesea council issuing infringement notices to households that are becoming jobless and are living with uncertainty in this health and economic crisis?' Is this the time to issue infringements without warnings rather than trying to keep the community settled and showing some empathy for what households may be experiencing rather than adding to their angst? … read more

I was issued with a parking infringement ($93.00 fine) in
Hi. I was issued with a parking infringement ($93.00 fine) in June if last year. The notice attached to my vehicle said "Offence No.739. Stopped-on a dividing strip Road Rule 197(1). The particular road that I was parked on has no dividing strip, it was in fact the nature strip, both of which are described in the dictionary attached to the Rule. I pointed this out to the council and was later informed that the notice was issued correctly as evidenced by me parking on a dividing strip "separating the road from a parking area". (ie. Not the definition of a dividing strip). I elected to go to court. Now some eleven months later, I have just been informed by the Council that they are proceeding but the wording has been amended to read "stopped on a nature strip". What is my best course of action? Regards. John Mcfarlane … read more
