I bough a car from Pickles Auction in NSW a couple of weeks

Customer Question

Hi I bough a car from Pickles Auction in NSW a couple of weeks ago. I noticed an issue immediately when I left the Auction. I have now taken the car to the dealership and they have told me there are substantial costs to fix it and the car is actually not even roadworthy and shouldn't be driven the car was sold to me without registeration but their mechanics did the roadworthy
JA: What state are you in? It matters because laws vary by location.
Customer: NSW
JA: Has anything been filed or reported?
Customer: I called them just today after I took the car to the dealership
JA: Anything else you want the lawyer to know before I connect you?
Customer: They say we sold the car as is and can't do anything about it.

Good Afternoon

I am sorry to give you bad news but buying at auction unless they specifically give you a warranty you are not protected. The law is not on your side and the saying buyer beware applies.

It is not like purchasing from a dealer where you are given a statutory warranty on a used car.

Did you have the car inspected by a mechanic before you purchased it?
