Parental rights are equal, in respect of joint decision making, health, schooling etc.
Visitation?
Initially, at the moment till a few months old, frequent contact, perhaps 1 or 2 days a week for a few hours, moving to one day, say 10 - 3 on a Saturday when baby is over 1 year old.
After that, perhaps extending to overnight access when the child is 2 1/2 - 3 years of age, alternate weekends.
The when the child is at school, each alternate weekend, perhaps one night a week on the other week, plus half the school holidays.
At the outset though, he needs to tailor his life around baby.

Further, child support is also payable, you should speak with centrelink / child support agency to be assured finances are in place.
