I'm in Adelaide and wanted to know if I had a warrant for my arrest as I missed court back on July 18 2016
JA: Since laws vary from place to place, what state is this in? And when was the warrant issued?

JA: Has anything been filed or reported?
Customer: South Australia
JA: Anything else you want the lawyer to know before I connect you?
Customer: And I am uncertain if I have a warrant???

Hello Jennie, and thanks for your question.

Unless you were due in court for a serious criminal charge it is likely the court simply adjourned the matter to a later date.

The way to check is to contact the court registry and explain that you failed to attend and ask them where the matter is at. They should inform you if the matter is simply relisted or whether a warrant has been issued for your arrest.

If you were due to appear in court you should have received court papers, a summons, notice of appearance or similar, which will tell you the contact details of the court registry. If not, you will have to look up the South Australian court registries online and they should be able to help you.
